Tried to buy shoes tonight, but no helpful staff.

For the first time ever, my wife and I each decided to treat ourselves to a pair of quality sandals. We're at that point where we've come to realize that quality footwear can make life ALOT more comfortable!
We visited three stores that carried what we were lookiing for.
Store 1. Plenty of staff standing around, but no acknowledgement and one came to offer assistance. We left with our money in our pockets.
Store 2. Really liked the looks of a couple pairs here! We were not greeted with a "Hi" or any other form of acknowledgement. That's bad enough to normally make me leave, but I figured we'd be patient. We'll wander for a few minutes and determine the shoes we'd like to try on. After the few minutes were up, there was still no acknowledgement. I know that they knew we were there because we made eye contact and we were the only people in the store, but they were more interested in their personal conversation. We left with our money in our pockets.
Store 3. The worker here greeted us with a friendly "Hi", but that was it. There was no "Can I help you with anything?" Oh well. She sucked the least, so I tried on a couple pairs. (I didn't purchase because I feel I should try on more than two pairs before dropping $140 on sandals.
I'm not available to shop on Tuesday but we have an appointment in Wpg, so we'll purchase our shoes there. The service is ALWAYS better in Winnipeg (and Minot for that matter(.
That sucks because as I've stated in previous threads, I'll pay more to support local businesses, however, I will not be treated like crap for the priviledge of shopping in Brandon.
AS an added note, I went "on line" and checked prices on the exact model shoes that I was interested in Brandon. With shipping, they were no cheaper.
In no particular order, the stores were (admin edit). One of these stores lost $200 to $300 in sales last night. Maybe Brandon businesses are doing so well, that they don't need my piddly little purchase.
I know the fine folks of eBrandon community will say, "Call the manager." I'm not going to be "that guy". I'm not a whiner or complainer. I'm just taking my business elsewhere.
Thanks for listening.
Mike
