I'm looking for places in and around Brandon that sell used and/or antique furniture. I'm looking for a sideboard or hutch or desk - depending on what I can find and what the dimensions are. I'm looking for a rustic/character piece. What places might I find something like this?

Try the antique shop just south of the airport entrance,pretty sure youll find something rustic

including a desk, PM if interested.

I couldn't find your ads on my phone and not sure how to pm. What size and colour is the desk?  
 
Do any of the thrift stores in brandon have furniture?

Yes, some have it on a hit-and-miss basis. There's not usually a lot to choose from at those stores, though. Have you tried the Building Re-fit Store (23-12th Street)? Another one to check is The People's Marketplace (32-13th Street). They may not have exactly what you're looking for, but they both sell some used furniture.  
 
If you're looking to purchase a hutch that already looks refinished in a rustic style, sometimes Lady of the Lake or Abby Rose (Rosser) sell things like that. . . but for more money, of course.

I like buying old pieces too, but I find them hard to find around these parts. Sometimes I luck out in yard sales, but not often. I was looking for chairs at one point, and ended buying them at IKEA and finishing them myself to get the look I wanted.

There is a new vintage and retro shop in Neepawa--can't remember the name right now--maybe someone from that town can help?

They have lots of antique furniture. They aren't open this time of year, but will gladly do a private showing. Give them a call at 727-0111.
