During the really cold spell back in january,the heat tape shorted out and the water line froze up..Thankfully the bext two days were quite warm and i was able to replace the tape and thawed the line..My question to those who may help is that when i was reparing the tape and insulation i saw a smaller line off the mainline that seemed to be going into the main sewer drain.It had a turn off valve on it.This is my first winter in the mobile,so learning,,,Is this something i need to adjust during summer and winter? Thanks

I know my place has the main line coming out where the sewer dumps into the ground. There is sometimes a water shut off located there. That way if the line goes you don't need to have the main line shut off done at the front of your house.

To be turned on in the winter to allow a slow trickle of water through the lines so they don't freeze up. Turn off in summer.

coming off the main line,,past the main shutoff valve .Its about the diameter of drink straw and there is a shutoff valve on it as well..thanks

with freezing of the water sully line under the mobile. If so leaving that small line running would keep the water line under the trailer from freezing.  
 
check with the park owner they will likley know the history.

It could also be used as a low point drain like on a camper. If you are leaving the mobile unattended over winter you shut of the main valve and open that one to drain the water out of the lines inside to prevent freezing.
