Hello. Just wondering what anyone who has a new 1400sq/ft home or close to that pays for hydro and gas. We are building one next year and just wondering. Be our current 3 yr old gas furnace going in and most likely a gas tankless water heater. Will have a full basement as well.

Impossible question to answer. Will depend on on how much electricity you use. The temperature you keep your house at, how many times you shower, do laundry, wash dishes, turn lights on... How much you run your A/C etc etc. What I pay or anyone else pays will be different then what you will pay.

A variety of numbers would give me a rough idea though.

You never did answer however. He is asking what your bills are with that size of house. We have no gas service, or basement so my numbers would not apply. I am sure someone that understands the question will reply with useful info.

There is no simple answer as it depends how the home is built and insulated.

we built a 1620 sg ft home with full basement,hot water on demand and our monthly bill is 145.00.However we are a senior couple.maybe give u some idea.

1,500sf  
full basement with heated floors  
heated floor in 600sf garage  
$150-$200 each month in winter  
summer $50-$75  
 
mind you we are on geothermal heating as we don't have access to gas where we live  
 
keep the house at 19-20 degrees  
 
no excess lights, 1 kid, moderate amount of laundry etc.

Except the only problem is it's not a simple question. Far too many variables. We're a family of 5. 1800sq ft. Keep the house around 22 in winter. Bills are anywhere from about $180 to $275 in winter. Summer $100-125ish.  
 
But since you clearly understand the question where is your useful answer?!

our house was built in 2015. We have a high efficiency furnace. And also installed a smart thermostat, and smart bulbs/ plugs throughout our house so we can control electricity when we are not home etc.  
House is 1300 square feet with a full basement. No kids. Run the dishwasher 3-4 times a week. Do 2 loads of laundry a week.  
 
 
Hydro/ gas is $147 a month.

i thought it was a fairly simple question but guess not. I figured around 150 and likely not too far off. Thanks

My hydro is anywhere between $120-$180 a month in winter time.  
 
Hydro during summer months is $50-$80 a month.  
 
Gas average runs $15.  
 
I have a 1600sq.ft home.

We have a 1580sqft cabover style home that is 6.5 years old. Finished basement. Two adults and 4 children still living at home (including 2 teenagers) and I run a home daycare. We do approximately 8-10 loads of laundry a week, dishwasher runs about 5 times a week, plus a handwashed load once or twice a day. We lower the heat a bit at night but otherwise, it's up all day. Lights and TV on all day. We have an above ground pool we heat in the summer and a hot tub that's heated year round. Our EPP is $364/month
