Adding outdoor hot water tap

Just curious for those who have had a plumber come and add a outside hot water faucet what a rough cost was to do this? Any negatives to adding one?

Very tough to get a rough estimate via a text or phone call. Most companies will do a free estimate for you. I'm gonna 'T' in the hot water line to my outside tap so it can run cold or hot or warm if I want. I don't see there being a downside in doing it.

Interesting I thought this would be one instance it would be very easy for a quote. More or less drilling a hole thru side of house adding a shutoff valve and tying into an existing water line? Would do the job myself but it's more of a time issue for me not so much lack of being capable.

Totally forgot that most aren't designed for hot water. Oh well I do still have some other uses around the house I would really like it for! And LOL at steaming grass I'd be furious!

I installed one a few years back on my house, its super easy to plumb in as long as you can access your plumbing inside your house easily. Very handy for topping up the hottub or washing things that need warm water. Even topping off the kids kiddie pool with a bit of warm water takes that edge off it.

If you want ballpark for a plumber , parts will probably be around $70-$100 dollars and at least an hour labour so I would guess it would cost total $200 maybe? But call a plumber and they will give you a better idea.
