Repainting, need to remove the toilet top tank. Not removing the base.
Do I need to replace any hardware, or gaskets to reinstall?

Maybe. Depends on how rusty the tank bolts are. There is also a sponge tank seal. As they age they get hard. So you might be able to use your old ones but for less then twenty dollars and peace of mind you can pick up a toilet tank / bowl set at most hardware stores.

Wrap the tank in plastic wrap and then you can roll behind tank. Not worrying about hitting toilet. I’ve done it a few times. Works really well.

Toilet was installed in 2020
No rust and the bolts still look new
Should be ok to reinstall.

Don’t tighten the bolts down to tight or you might crack the tank thou.
