my Singer sewing machine is an older model, but it is a GREAT machine. I am having problems with getting it to do the zig zag stitch and some of the other fancy stitches. I have worked on it to the point of frustration!!  
Anyone know someone that tunes a sewing machine besides the place on Princess AVe??

Brandon Sewing Center on Princess is EXCELLENT! That's the only place I would recommend!

Unless you are willing to travel, I am sure he is the only one in Brandon. I have always been happy with his service.  
Killarney used to have someone at the fabric store, not sure if still does.

Have you taken the top off and oiled all the moving components? And the same underneath?

no problem with the sewing place on Princess Ave...however, it will take at least 7-10 days to get the machine back, even if it only needs a tune up. I really want to finish the project I am working on

I always take my machine to Brandon sewing center.  
 
I am assuming you have tried the basics. When my machine is not sewing properly changing needles or bobbins as they might have a nick on them.  
 
There is sometimes industrial machines advertised here and the name Brolund seems to come to mind (not sure as haven't seen ads lately). He might fix them.  
 
There is a sign on the highway south of Forest that does sewing and upholstery. They might fix machines.  
 
Check with Fabricland they might have contacts or do they still teach sewing in home ec in school. The schools might have service contacts.
