Clueless father of teenage daughter needs some opinions/feedback about period panties. Anyone use them? Do they live up to the “fabulous-online” reviews? Do you have to be careful not to wash them with whites so everything doesn’t turn pink? Seriously though, just looking for some local feedback if anyone can help. Thanks

My daughter uses Knix and loves them. You just throw them in the wash after each use.

My sister and her daughters swear by Knix. I have just ordered my first pair, both for time of the month (altho I am getting close to the age of not needing them for that), and for running/ biking/ working out for the sweat absorbancy.

I myself have never heard of them, i use diva cup and love it but probably not right for a teenager yet, tho i wanted to add that washing blood would be more of a brown then turn everything pink. I would wash alone so they get a good wash or with dark colors

How much are they?

I would recommend checking out Knixteen, same brand but made for teens. A little cheaper too. I got 3 pair for around $70.

I never knew these things existed. I just always wore crappy old granny panties when I had to deal with that stuff.

Ebrandon people enlighten me... are they necessary or is this just a money grab?  
 
And more importantly "Dad" is this something she wants and all her friends have? If her friends have them, then definitely get them for her. It's such a crappy situation she should not feel different than her friends.  
But I would hate to see you scammed because you don't know any different.

Thanks for all the feedback. So happy to see specific brand she has been looking at also ... knix. My daughter came across these on her own and mainly wanted them to minimize landfill waste. As far as she knows none of her friends are using them, that’s in turn why I reached out for some local opinions on eBrandon. So we’ve went ahead and ordered a few pairs. She’s going to open 1 pair up, to try on - if not happy Knix has money back guarantee. Thanks EBrandon-ers!

These aren’t the equivalent to wearing “granny panties”, so you don’t wreck the good ones. These are in lieu of wearing numerous pads, tampons, etc. You wear them and they absorb your period. Although if it’s super heavy they do still sometimes recommend using products with them. There are different absorbency ones you can purchase. No scam, they are actually quite amazing.  
The ones I use, actually help me to sleep better at that time of month. You feel more secure with your sheets protected. Then you simply wash them after you wear them. Really cuts down on waste materials from tampons and pads.  
And now they are coming out with a swimwear line. Which I think is awesome! Anytime I can avoid using all those products, the better.

I always see these and suggested to my daughter but she can be heavy at times and we were not sure how long she could wear them for? Do they last a full day of school? Would anyone know the answers.

They’re great and in terms of absorbency, they hold approx. 3x that of the disposable options. Would certainly last a day at school and be comfortable. Also, to the original poster.. of course laundry doesn’t turn pink. Give them a quick rinse before putting into the laundry is all you need to do. Also, hydrogen peroxide takes blood out of anything.
