Kindergarten and school of choice - your opinions please!

Hi!
My daughter is entering kindergarten in September, and we're debating about where to send her. We're not crazy about our catchment school for a variety of reasons, ranging from the physical building to the staff to the programming. She had Autism, so selecting "just the right school" is important considering her high needs and particularities.
The problem I'm encountering is that pretty much every school, someone says, "Oh, I've heard terrible things about that school"! Based on the input I've gotten, you'd think every school in the BSD is just simply awful! It's to the point that none of the feedback is meaningful because it's all the same no matter what school!!
Does anyone have any good, positive and helpful things to say about our schools? Does anyone have any specific complaints about any of the schools (beyond the vague "I've heard terrible things...")? My daughter is in an integrated nursery school program with a full-time aide, and is doing exceptionally well, so I want her to be mainstreamed as much as possible. Does anyone have an experiences specific to that?
Your opinions and stories are most appreciated! thanks! I do intend to meet with the principal/resource teachers to discuss our situation, but first I have to narrow down our choices!
