Looking for moms/dads that buy their diapers at Costco. How do they compare to pampers? Are they more cost efficient?

Not a parent but as a daycare provider, I've seen a lot of diapers lol. I can't speak for cost though as I don't buy them. Here are my opinions..  
 
Pampers....smell the nicest haha. They tend to fit kids who are a bit chunkier/bigger better. They seem to give quite a Few kids rashes though.  
 
Huggies...probably the most common brand I see. They fit snugger and keep the blowouts contained. One of the better fitting brands IMO  
 
Kirkland...fairly similar to Huggies. The only thing that annoys me is that they have these super strong front tab things (where you stick the tab) that catch on the new diaper (I put new diaper under their bum before changing) only annoying when you're changing a bm and don't want to get it everywhere lol  
 
Walmart/superstore/no name brands...I know they're probably cheaper but when they get wet, they smell awful!! It's almost like a chemical smell?? They sometimes give rashes too. By far my least favourite brands  
 
And wipes...easily Kirkland by a landslide!

We have a boy and have tried all three. We only use pampers swaddlers now. Read a lot online and it said that the pampers hold more pee which is totally true. Had leaks on the other two. Only time we had blow outs is when we were using a diaper too small for him. As soon as we saw he had a blow out we used the size bigger. Worked well for us. You just have to find what works best for you and your baby.

also liked kirkland and Huggys, good quality, no issue with leaks or rashes for us. Kirkland wipes are the best you can get IMO.  
 
Pampers on the other hand was rash city- they do smell great, but that heavy scent can cause very bad rashes and yeast infections in some kids. Also, unless your child is bigger, they leak as they don't fit properly in the waist & legs for long skinny babies, the other 2 had a better fit for our childs body type at the time.  
 
For our child it had to be Huggys or Kirkland, though I do know lots of people who have had good luck with pampers. It really depends on your baby

To piggyback onto this post... having trouble with being between sizes. Is there a brand/line that tends to fit slightly bigger or smaller? My child is too big for size 4 pampers snug and dry but the size 5 is quite large on her still. It's way cheaper to buy large boxes so I don't want to experiment with a bunch of smaller packs of other kinds!

We use pampers swaddlers or cruisers. Worked great on both my long skinny boy and chunkier girl, never experienced leaks with either. Rashes only occurred when they had acidic poops. We tried huggies with my son and often had leaks out the side when the diaper was barely wet, ended up giving them away.  
 
You just have to see what works with your baby and your preference. I work in a baby room in a daycare and typically most parents use pampers, some huggies or Kirkland, which are similar diapers. Usually never have issues with any of these.

We use Huggies for our kids. We tried Kirkland and thought they were alright, but we rarely go to Winnipeg. We found they were different sizes that the "same size" of Huggies. I think they were bigger, so when size 3 Huggies were too small but the 4's were too big, we had some Kirkland size 3 given to us and they were perfect for in between.  
 
Cost saving tip: shop on Amazon (Prime). We signed up for Amazon Prime and subscribe to certain products. We order a bunch of products, like diapers, wipes, paper towel, etc and it comes once a month right to our door. If you subscribe to a certain amount of product, like us, you get an extra 15% off everything. They usually compete with Walmart prices in general, but add the discount and you get it for cheaper than at Walmart and get the added bonus of not having to go to Walmart! We save almost $8/box of diapers doing it this way. You can postpone shipments until the next month or unsubscribe at any time. It's nice not having to haul everything into the house, especially when it's -40C out.  
 
I'm all for shopping local, but I'm also for saving money where I can.
