There is another thread where the OP mentioned that she calls in sick to work when she's not actually sick. I just wanted to get the opinions of other eBrandoners to see what the general thought is on calling in sick.  
 
My parents taught me that unless you are sick, you don't get to call in sick. I was also taught that if you ARE sick, then you absolutely call in sick so that you prevent the spread of germs and get healthy more quickly.  
 
I know there are many things that factor in to this issue. How sick do you have to be in order to stay home from work? Do you have a job that allows you to miss work easily? In the service industry, most times YOU have to find someone to cover your shift, and if you can't, too bad, suck it up and show up for work.
