Welcome to a Renaissance Brandon thread dedicated to safety discussions and perceptions of our downtown. I am looking for your assistance to provide your thoughts, feelings, concerns, solutions and ideas about downtown Brandon.  
1. Do you feel safe at night downtown? Why or Why not?  
2. Do you feel safe at night in Brandon? Why or Why not?  
 
IF you do not feel safe in downtown Brandon at night, can you provide some additional ideas on how to remedy your concern? Have you seen projects or initiatives in other cities that have been successful?  
 
Renaissance Brandon has been conducting internal, strategic planning sessions evaluating short and long term projects, initiatives, goals and priorities. As part of this process, safety issues and perceptions have been identified for further discussion.  
 
We are also working with members of the City Police to evaluate how we can partner together to share resources, ideas and knowledge.  
 
Ultimately, having more people downtown on a continual basis solves or at least improves many of the issues we are facing with our downtown. Sustainable, significant changes usually take time, however, there are actions that can be taken to produce short term, positive results.
