We are excited to announce that this year's course is being led by Jimmie Kilpatrick, aka Shotgun Jimmie. Kilpatrick is a singer-songwriter based in Brandon, Manitoba. Jimmie’s one-man-band has been an audience favourite at numerous festivals including Slovakia’s Pohoda, Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop Explosion, Sappyfest, Sled Island, Regina Folk Festival, Dawson City Music Festival, NXNE and Canadian Music Week. He has released four albums since 2007, received a Polaris Prize long-list nomination, and shared split releases with Joel Plaskett, Ladyhawk, and Attack in Black. In 2012, he appeared on John K. Samson’s release Provincial (Epitaph/ANTI) and toured across North America and Europe as Samson’s lead guitarist and opening act. His back-up band is a revolving cast of Canada’s best; musicians who have also played with Feist, DoMakeSayThink, Constantines, Ladyhawk, City and Colour and Cannon Bros.
