I know it seems a lot of people like the same style of music these days so just curious what style of music everyone here likes. Whats your favorite music?

I like Southern Rock in all its different iterations... 'Skynyrd, Hatchet, The Outlaws, 'Tucker, Blackberry Smoke, The Allmans, .38 Special, Little Feat, Blackfoot, Gov't Mule... HELL YEAH!!!!

My preferences have evolved over the years but currently I am listening to a lot of blues based sounds. Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart collaborations are very soulful and oozing with talent.

Classical music by Bach, Scarlatti, Vivaldi. Also love the music of Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert and many other composers.

late 60's and early 70's Rock is the best. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Grand Funk, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Doors, etc.

Mine is all over the place but it maybe because I was a band nerd as a child. But jazz, oldies pop rock, sometimes classical, 90's pop music and some of the rock music from there. Lately anything newer has to have something more than the magic 4 cords

They are a Winnipeg based band. Beautiful 4-part harmonies and a slide guitar player that will go down as one of the best of all-time.  
 
It's a great rock/country/Americana blend. Impossible not to appreciate.  
 
They should be much bigger than they are, so please give them some listens.  
 
They play in Dauphin in October and CAN'T wait to go see them.

I grew up on a heavy diet of Aerosmith, KISS, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, etc..Then I discovered Iron Maiden and Motorhead!  
 
The first album I ever bought?Aerosmith - Live Bootleg when I was 11. I still never get sick of that album. It's been close to 40 years.

Ear bleeding, mind blowing metal!

I prefer the 70s and newer. I'd prefer to listen to 94.7 to hear the new stuff to stay more current, but with all the crap that they play that passes for "music" (and I use that term very loosely), I'm stuck listening to 96.1 Bob, which replays songs daily. Maybe I should start listening to country.

That's awesome! I was a big rock and metal head for years so I am quite familiar with a lot of the artists listed. I sorta changed my style over the years but I still listen to that kind of stuff from time to time. Maybe some electronic or newer style music here and there. But I pretty much grew up with rock and metal so it will always be a favorite.

I love what we call at home "East Coast" music. Basically a celtic/folk/pop blend. Think "Great Big Sea", Barra McNeils, The Rankins, Mary Jane Lamond. Miss being able to easily find live music of that type.

I like stuff with a great melody and solid songwriting, but with a bit of edge. Also the better the lyrics, the more I'm interested

I grew up on Country Music, Songs where by you understand the words & the meaning of the song, Thats not to say I don't like Johnny Reid,,Anne Murray,,, Elvis,,,Dean Martin,,,Tom Jones,,,Shania Twain,,,John Denver,,,Don Ho,,,Ray Griff,,,Daniel O'Donnel,, Keith Urburn,,, and many others... I only listen to songs that leave me with a good feeling or a story....

Satellite radio is usually tuned to "50's on 5" or "60's on 6" - occasionally a country channel. Guess you can tell my age from this post.

Although I grew up with older rock `n roll, then The Beatles and later the British blues bands (that led me to Robert Johnson, etc), I also like (and have played) a lot of older country. Sometimes, too, seeing a performance can be a mind-changer....for example, in the 60s, I couldn't stand Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) but my wife and I have seen him live several times and always enjoyed it - we even have a CD of his that we often play. Recently saw The Zombies in Wpg, who were absolutely amazing.
