Looking for a little advice! Recently got engaged and we are exploring the option of a destination wedding ... anyone have any recommendations or advice on which travel agents to go to in town?

Well after attending 2 destination weddings it seems like there wasn't much of a difference in who you went with. Only thing I see about a destination wedding is that the bride and groom have the option of getting their package paid for if they have enough people to attend the wedding. First wedding was family and they took the free package and divided it up by those attending so everyone got a discount. Second one was family again but the bride and groom got their vacation free due to enough people attending their wedding. I find this very tacky. If people cannot afford a destination wedding unless x amount of people can go so they get theirs free....that is just wrong. Once dates were booked, seems everything else was coordinated through the resort anyway, not a travel agent. Both the weddings I attended they directly dealt with the resort. Lots of emails and extras to add the cost up pretty quickly. Resorts have a wedding person with a binder you would go through with package options.

I have gone to several destination weddings and planned my own. There was nothing comparable to going to one at Karisma hotels. I ended up being referred by an amazing organizer from Vancouver who kept me on my toes. She is so organized and the best communication ever. She is the owner of Sunlovers Travel. you can look her up on the website or facebook. I recommended calling her for information. My day was beyond amazing and so many of our guests have gone back to the resort since.
