I am curious if the city has a new pickup schedule that I don't know about. Yesterday is generally my day, and they got the blue bin. But trash was left behind. Did this happen to anyone else?  
 
If it's mechanical issues, then Saturday?  
 
Did I phone the city? Not yet. If someone already did, it saves everyone time.

City website says leave your containers out and they will get to them.

Seems like since the city got their new garbage trucks a few years ago, there been a lot of mechanical issues. Pretty much every couple weeks garbage collection is behind schedule because of mechanical issues. Never use to be a problem.

I dont recall too many days that they have missed our pickup.and if they did it was collected shortly there after.  
remember also that around christmas when there is a bigger influx of garbage the routes can get heavier than normal which may put them behind.  
 
hated the old big square bins, they attached graffiti and people would stuff them full of construction material fences etc. leaving no place for others with legit garbage.  
 
and those older trucks if you recall were behind schedule regularly.  
 
we dont have much to complain about in brandon, compare to wpg with brown water, regular raw sewage dump to the red river, always garbage collection issues, streets way worse than ours. and we only have one bottle neck in traffic, 18th daly bridge, and thats only because people still will not use the concept of a simple merge at the appropriate time.

I just saw them go north on the lane between 4th st and 5th st. I know the 3 garbage and 3 recycle bins for my apartment are full. Its a constant problem which everybody at my apartment has complained about. Atleast I have the option of using the dumpster at my workplace. I'm hoping the building manager of my apartment can get us the old square bins back and put a lock on it so the folks across the lane (who have their own bins) don't use ours.

I get my garbage bin missed sometimes.I call the sanitation department and the phone is always off the hook.Don't know what to do if they don't answer the phone.

depot still better then Winnipeg they always have bins with garbage piled up and their system is newer then Brandon's winnipeg was always on the news for garbage pile ups or not picked up.I like Brandon system compared to those big metal bins also we used to have

Just curious. American people tend to refer to the term of Trash vs. our Canadian term of "garbage".  
 
More of a curious observation than anything. Most folks I know take out the garbage. Trash is a very American term.

Our trash was to be picked up Tuesday and it was picked up late Wednesday - this is the first time this has happened in the east end

Put it out the night before. Follow the guidlines on the website and understand that they may be late due to unecpected reasons. I bring mine back in around 8:00 the night of the pick up.
