Sounds about right, when it comes to the BSD. They have always come across as scummy to me. More apt to push problems out than to actually dealing with them internally.  
 
Or, to get back to the context of this thread . . . big surprise!

I see on his Facebook board member Kevan Sumner saying that the results weren’t ready when the topic was raised on Monday... but that the intent is to release them once finalized at a future board meeting.

I find it funny they wanted the public’s opinion on it, even advertised the poll on public forums and yet they can’t release the results?  
 
Seems fishy to me. I don’t believe the BSD has the children’s or parent’s best interest at heart with how they pick and choose what needs or doesn’t need fixing.

Sounds like the parents and public need to have a good fixing and just let the people of BSD do their jobs. People need to support teachers more and support the idea of the children being taught properly. Seems like people are more concerned with feelings and other types of bs then actually being concerned with making children smarter. It’s the people that created this mess and forcing the teachers to concern themselves with so much more then just teaching. We need to have a big change in ideas, bring back a lot of how things used to be and not make teachers the enemy

Below please find a statement from Dr. Linda Ross, Chair, Brandon School Division Board of Trustees with regards to the results of the School Calendar Survey undertaken in December 2017:  
 
"Public feedback showed a strong preference for full-day vs. half-day professional development days. The 2018-2019 school calendar is currently being prepared to reflect that preference. This information will be brought to the Board for its approval at the Board meeting on Monday, February 12, 2018."

I’m not really shocked anymore at these types of things by the school division. I think the entire results should be released to the parents and public. They need to be open and communicative with the public that puts them in these roles, and pays them. This is public school and they should be keeping the public informed. Clearly they are embarrassed by the results, and know the way they handled the whole half day situation from the get go was for their satisfaction and not for students and familly’s. The original study from last year was rushed, uninformed, and terribly done, but I think that’s cause they already had it in their heads that they were doing it regardless.  
It didn’t work as they thought it would, as they weren’t as open with parents and offering enough information about it.  
Hopefully they share the info soon with the public as we deserve to know, they work for the tax payers. Tired of the shady stuff!

I thought this would be about how the BSD is going to give it to us again this budget. We all have to start demanding more accountability and transparency from the Brandon School Division. I can't wait to see what the findings of the survey are!

I did read it all... what am I missing? The one post that was released by a school division member saying that there was strong favouritism for full days? I caught that. But as per Brandon sun this morning, the Bsd said they would NOT be releasing the feedback from survey. Only since backlash has started to come today have they announced anything about the strong favouritism for full days and in process of changing it back for next year and getting approval at the meeting in feb. But they haven’t said if they were changing their minds and releasing all info from survey. They need to release all info the received from surveys. There was more than one question on it.  
I have yet to hear all that transpired from survey, so I will stick to my earlier response and say we need to hear it all. And BSD needs to start being more transparent!

We all got what we wanted. It’s being switched back. Yes it would be interesting to actually see the results but in the grand scheme of things it really doesn’t matter. It’s going back to full days and that’s all that matters to me!  
 
Thanks to everyone who actually took the time to fill out the survey and to make your voices heard! They won’t ever please everyone by what days they give off but at least it will be a full day now!

Then perhaps they should’ve quoted that one person. I never thought it was aimed directly at me, but more to all the other responses asking for transparency, as they mentioned to read it all “people”, not person. I just answered on my behalf. I could be wrong and Goodtimes response did have nothing to do with the thread, but they way it was phrased made me think it was aimed at all the other responses. To make us think we got our answers within the thread by the mini response from a BSD member. But I know I didn’t get all my answers.  
And true, I could’ve totally read it wrong, and apologize if I did.
