I came home to an orange slip of paper and a small water bottle. It claimed if you fill out some brief personal information and fill the water bottle up and leave it outside, a person would come to retrieve it the next day between 2-6pm and your water would be tested. Said person never showed, also had a family member who waited a week and they never came back. Is this legitimate? Anybody else have this happen? Wondering what the purpose of this is to drop it off and then never come back.

It's a door-to-door sales gimmick to try and get you to buy a water filtration system. Chances are the person they hired bailed on the job and never did the pickup.

We did ours and it was picked up. They called a few days later and said that someone would be by to test the kitchen water. I proceeded to ask why they needed to test my kitchen sink water as I gave them a sample of our water already. What concluded was that I wasn’t going to let someone into my house to “test” my water again. Way too stretchy.

I filled it out. Filled the bottle. Put it outside and was gone when I got home from work the next day. Haven’t heard since.

I also did the sample. Took a couple days to pick up. They phoned me and attempted to arrange a time to come into my house to test my tap water. I said no. I asked why they needed to if they had already had a sample. They told me that sometimes the collection get too hot or too cold or maybe it was collected a bit before they can come pick it up. They said they wanted to do a real time test of the water in front of me. I told them I was no longer interested in this test as I figured if they already had a sample they could just tell me those results! She didn’t seem too happy but I said don’t bother with us anymore I changed my mind on testing my water!!!

If you are on town or municipal water, and you are having no issues or concerns, I really don't know why you would need to give anyone a test sample of the water. Also, for some of you, why the kitchen sink tap? How did they know what tap you took your sample out of? If they need it warmer/cooler, I am sure anyone could figure out how to do that themselves and wouldn't need a "retest."  
 
Too many oddities. I agree...gimmick or scam...

Just a company wanting to sell water filtration. I happen to own a very expensive whole house filter I bought not from this door to door but from this company. Really up to you if you trust your water by all means don’t bother with this however if your at all curious come talk to me here in brandon anytime I’ll give a testimonial to the system and company and you could make you own call after that if you wanted things tested.

if anyone really wants the best water in there house without any sales gimmicks like this just buy a reverse osmosis system (200-500 depending on quality) and run a tap to your kitchen faucet area. it will be as good as any local water company.

Googled the name of the company leaving the water bottle and didn't feel comfortable dealing with a third party non-local company in the name of sales with an eye catching marketing tactic, so I got rid of the package.  
 
With the internet, do a minute of research and decide on your own whether you want to proceed.

The OS sink system is great for one tap! However to soften water and filter it through out the whole house from entry to every tap and shower head requires a whole home filter. Maybe overkill for some and maybe expensive for some and maybe well worth it to others.

It is scam but not sure what is the purpose of testing our tap water

Our bottle/bag was dropped off at our house after 11pm. I found that really unprofessional. Freaked me out having someone entering my yard that late at night

They don't test the water. They dump out the water, dry out the bottles, and send them out again. The whole point is to get you to let them into your home for "further testing" so they can try and sell you a water filtration system. It's like the rug cleaning gimmick.
