Do you know if the Christie's building had a fire alarm system? Fire alarm systems usually are zoned so if the building had an alarm system the alarm company would most likely know in which zone the fire first started, assuming it started inside the building. The alarm company should be able to tell where inside the building the fire first started, basement, main floor, or one of the upper floors.

Saw this in the Sun.
Started outside on the ground-not in the upper stories of the building as some were so insistent it was.

I truly hope the fire was an accident and not a deliberate act. Even an a.c. ident is almost inexcusable as dry as it was then

We watched the fire from the north side just as two fire fighters were setting up a hose on the north west corner. The outside of the building was not on fire as you would expect to see if a grass fire or arson at the rear would suggest. The fire was within the building.

Here's the direct Police release re evidence that the fire initiated in the grassy area to the North of where the Christies building was. They aren't going as far as saying that it was deliberately set, but definitely dont appear to be ruling it out either:

Posted @1:06 pm shows the back of Christies. Sure looks like it wasn't burning enough on the ground floor, if it indeed started there!
