How anyone can miss all those right-turn-only signs is beyond me! Signal, shoulder check, and enter the lane within no more than 100m of your turn. If you find you've mis-judged, MAKE THE TURN ANYWAY AND CLEAR THE LANE. Then re-group. You can't be in such a rush that you can't afford the minute or two that will cost. If you are, you need to plan a bit better, not annoy, distract, or be a danger to other drivers. If you're in the right-turn-only lane, people expect you to be TURNING. Doing the unexpected... well, save that for games.
And to close my rant, for the love of Bob, if you're turning right, turn into the RIGHT lane. If you're turning left, turn into the LEFT lane. Then signal, shoulder check, and move into your desired lane. " |

it may be that the driver in the wrong lane is not in such a rush, but the people behind the driver and beside the driver are in a rush and the driver can't make the change.
Yes, I know you said to make the turn and clear the lane. Some may be trying to get back onto the right lane of 18th street, which can be near impossible sometimes.
I live here, I know the street, the signs, what to do. It is different for people from out of town that may not come to Brandon all that often, or drive in a lot of traffic.
Ticketed if caught, yes. But it is just one of those things....you know and see it or you miss it, happens all the time. Not only in driving. I am certainly not going to get in a rant if I have to follow someone that does not quite know where they are going - because, I make good use and plan my time.
