Is there a place that cleans area rugs or do you just try and do it yourself ?

Where is a good place to buy one? Would like something a little larger and better quality than the ones at Walmart.  
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I bought the portable little green machine at Walmart. Works wonders. Good for upholstery too. I'm actually on my second one.

We took our expensive wool area rug to him. Super clean and super reasonable price.

Sunset Creek on 13th Street carries a good selection of area rugs, will order size you need, will let you take home rugs (deposit prob required) to check for size and colour suitability in your home: also have catalogues to browse if in-store samples aren’t what you are looking for.  
 
Budget Blinds were going to start carrying area rugs but did not have in-store samples when I checked a couple of years ago, only catalogues to order from.  
 
Also check with Stewart’s and Jenkins - tell them what you are looking for and I think you can select from roll ends, possibly even regular stock, and get the size you need and they can bind the edges or make arrangements to have the edges bound for you.  
 
Home Depot used to have a sample rack of area rugs but I haven’t checked there for awhile so not sure they still do.
