Overall I though the event was done well. Those complaining about not being handicap accessible I saw many in wheel chairs/using walkers having little issue getting around. Most of the vendors were in the middle of the street making it a even surface and tho there was many I attendance people seemed more than willing to move out of the way to allowed the handicapped thru. If the weather would have cooperated then it would have been that much better.

We loved it. Hit a bunch of trucks to sample as much as we could (churros, cheese curds, smoked ribs, oh my!). The rides were well priced and the kids loved it, and we had no problem getting prime parking in the parkade. I hope they are able to organize it for next year in the same place. Much needed for our downtown area. Who cares about the weather, no one is going to melt!

My wife and I went on Sunday when we got back into town. I asked the vendors we visited and they had a good overall success. I asked if it was sunny and warmer what would have happened. A few said they wouldn't have been able to handle it correctly. The gloom on Sunday left for easy parking as the crowd was low. Couple rides were running. Others were patiently waiting for riders. The weather definitely worked in my favor and waiting till closer to the end of the event helped too.

From what I heard even downtown restaurants benefited from the food trucks being there. 2 years in a row, food truck wars have had bad weather. If it was hot outside like today, I bet the crowds would've been bigger!

we went on friday and enjoyed ourselves, despite the weather - it would be great if brandon could have more events like this! i’ve just come across our 50/50 tix and wanted to check them before throwing them away... i’m wondering if someone with access to facebook would be kind enough to post the winning 50/50 ticket #? looks like that’s the only way to see them but i’m not a fb’er and can’t see any posts on the page without logging in.

But I believe that the 50/50 was run by Westman Dreams for Kids, a very good local organization that does some great work here in Westman. It's good to see that the 50/50 was involved with supporting a great local cause that will help several children!

I heard that sales were down about 20%. I think for them paying property taxes to have parking for their regular customers that this should be moved every year so that different areas are accessible. How about the old Kmart/Zellers parking lot in the east end. I am sure that there is other areas that would be just as good to have it.

That’s a pretty general statement without any real source. Whose sales?

I’m confused. So those places pay extra property taxes on public streets for parking?? Or just property tax on their actual building/sidewalk area like the rest of us? They don’t have their own parking lots and rely on city streets for parking don’t they? I could see paying property tax for a parking lot, but not public streets. And if they are paying extra property tax for parking for their customers I could see being frustrated, but if they aren’t and are simply paying normal taxes like everybody else, then I can’t see why there would be a problem. Those business don’t own the streets. And the trucks were all on the streets.  
I thought the location worked out perfect! Hope it stays there for next time.
