Van was ransacked last night. Just west of 26th off Park Ave. Looking for money and change.

One summer in Douglas a bunch of cars ransacked  
 
Ones who had doors locked windows were broken  
 
Ones who had not locked the door just had things raffled through.  
 
We left our doors open. So they just went through papers we had in there nothing important. Didn’t even take any cds guess they didn’t like our tastes in music.

this kind of advice drives me nuts! We have always locked our doors and never had windows smashed! The one time I forgot to lock the truck some jerk rummaged thru the glove box.  
 
Anyone around here who doesn''t lock their vehicle has had a scumbag rifle thru their stuff, even had a purse (who would leave a purse in a unlocked vehicle) taken and the contents strewn about.  
 
I''d rather not have grubby thieving hands touch my stuff.

The fact is we didn’t have money if we had found both windows or more. $200 bucks s window adds up.  
 
The latest was years ago when many didn’t lock their doors in rural areas.  
 
And leaving anything valuable in your car is weird.  
 
In this day and age when people are almost glued to their phones leaving your phone in your car for more than 5 minutes is strange.

We are by Linden Lanes and every time we have forgotten to lock a vehicle it has been torn through. There were items of value left behind: all that was taken was loose change. At least they close the doors so the battery isn’t dead in the morning!

Olden days it was a wire cost hanger. A great tool when you locked your keys in your car

Neighbours go to work and leave the front door of their house unlocked every day. I guess the alarm will do the job of protecting their stuff. Layered security isn't a thing.
