Went did the City Dump start charging Brandon Taxpayers an entrance fee to take a little garbage to the dump?

Over a year ago. Standard practice among other cities, most are more than the $2 we pay here.  
 
You only pay if it is landfill items. Anything that goes into separated piles is still free.

In my experience they’ve been very reasonable when and how they charge. Tree branches for example I wasn’t charged for. When I brought in a full trailer full of misc stuff mainly for the regular landfill I did pay $2 but that’s the only time in my last half dozen trips I had to.

Disposing of garbage is not cheap.

Extend on your experience, with my own, which are similar to yours, but if I take anything that doesn’t need to go up into the main landfill, I’m not charged, if I have anything to go into the main dump I’m charged 2$ for it which is pretty cheap, if I recall correctly, my father in law uses the Brady landfill in Winnipeg and it costs him 10$ regardless of how small the load or the location of its tipping

I had an old wooden shingled shed that I demolished. It would have taken two trips to the dump with my truck so I loaded my utility trailer as well to get it all in one trip. The dump charged me $30.00 for exceeding the allowable weight. So I asked, If I had made two trips with the truck, it would have been just $2.00, correct? You bet!!! Lesson learned.

If you took two loads and put it in the wood pile at the sorting piles at the bottom. I am sure you would not have to pay the$2.00. Also if you haul cement out you have to keep it under 500 kg or they will charge you accordingly.

Even when it was free there was still people that where too lazy and ignorant and left there junk in the back lanes.
