Lunch Program

I am so incredibly thankful that my child's school accommodates for all students who want/need the lunch program. I remember when I didn't know what school she was going to (applied for school of choice in grade 1) and struggled with the catchment areas lunch program. I tried to prepare for both schools as best I could. I even applied for the the catchment schools lunch program in June, they way they wanted you to. Filled out the form, gave them the money. It was a first come first served basis and very limited numbers. So I was on the ball because I NEEDED the program. I was going to school and my schedule didn't match my child's school schedule. A month later a lady from the parent council came and gave me the form and money back. Gave me a new information sheet. They had decided to change the way they were doing the lunch program process. You had to go to the school in September during certain times and sign your kid up. But of course these times were when I'd be in class. I was incredibly disappointed as I had been on the ball to get my kid signed up and I'm sure because a few parents complained they didn't get their kid signed up they changed the way they did things. My kid hadn't even went to that school and I made sure to get her signed up ASAP. Anyways it was a huge relief when she got school of choice and her amazing school allows all children to stay.
