Just hoping if enough people talk about it the Keystone will do better with getting more recycle bins around. Watching the waste at Winter Fair is saddening!

Bars use cans for beer and some pop. Didn't seem like staff had any recycling bins available to them. I understand there are lots of changes since the concessions and bars were contracted out. More recycling bins would be great for the people attending and staff. Hopefully they get more soon because it is a huge waste.  
While not a "recycling" thing does anyone else wonder what happens with the left over food from banquets and stuff. I heard it is sent to one of the community kitchens downtown. Can anyone confirm this still happens after the contract?  
On the contracting out issue....is anyone who attends events on a regular basis afraid of price increases again next year. They are outrageous now for some things. Hope this contractor doesn't think they can have Winnipeg prices (same company as MTS Centre). I don't think they get that this is a different focus group.

There are recycling bins all over the building. Not sure where you're talking about?

I attend a number of events at the Keystone, and a lot of the pricing had been the same for a few years. Prices are no where near BellMTS pricing, and when you compare some of the meal items at the concessions to fast food meals, the prices are competitive. A value meal at any burger place or a 12" sub is well over $10. At the Wheat Kings games, the fair and the Brier they have introduced the new food carts with more variety and non-fried food offerings. Not every night can be Twoonie Tuesday!

You are right there are recycling bins around the building. I still think there could be a few more.  
My point was more that there is no recycling bins for the staff to put empty containers in except garbage. It would be nice if there were bins close by that the staff could use.

Well I work for the garbage company that dumps the bins at the keystone . I’ll be there on Sunday to clean the bins up . But yes they never did ask for mixed recycling or cardboard bin to be provided, when I dump the garbage bins there is about 1/4 of good recycling products mixed in with the general waste , I can’t do much about it besides landfill all the product
