Thought Adam's link showed likeliness it's another cannabis store.

Ignore my comment above, missed the part about going between Penningtons and kfc/taco bell.

Garden Variety (Cannabis retailer) is shown on the site plan as being between KFC/Taco Bell and Pennington’s.  
 
As far as the big one, this is just a guess and I need to be clear that nobody has told me anything that factually makes it any more than that but if forced to choose one I will go with it being a fair sized clothing store not yet in Brandon that’s known to be in the middle of aggressively building out several dozen new stores this fiscal year that are in the neighbourhood of that size.  
 
Never know though, there’s a home furniture/decor store that comes up in these kinds of conversations from time to time and sometimes an existing business even surprises with another location.

As far as for Old Navy, there are an aggressive store that will be opening up 15+ stores across north america. The sq.ft range from 8000-15,000sq.ft. This particular location would be a little over 13.000sq.ft.  
 
I believe another store that is similar capacity to Old Navy would be Marshalls.

I'm wondering if it's old navy too. Would be a good addition to Brandon, I think, as it is budget friendly (good for the demographics here) and trendy. I would welcome it, for sure  
 
Side note, why is it a problem to say "I heard...". I'm just trying to figure out the harm of that? I mean what is the internet for if not fun rumours lol. I'm trying to see what harm could come from it...

signage area is somewhat painted now.. wondering if it's going to be another pharmacy now...

6-7 seems about right when you consider how many locations in Brandon that there is for people to buy booze.

my sources tell me it is Corporate Owned Pet Smart. really hope it does not hurt PetValu a locally owned franchise.

Well if its not Costco, Red Lobster or Olive Garden I'm moving too.  
 
But in all seriousness, any business is better than another empty building slowly deteriorating. We have enough of those already. Oh and no more cannabis stores we have enough of them for now...

It’s a pet smart

Nobody with corporate confirming anything, but if there were oddsmakers I suspect it would look a little something like this at the moment:  
 
Biggish box pet store: 3:1  
Biggish box clothing store 6:1  
Midsize home accessory/furnishing store: 10:1  
Big box party store 13:1  
Large membership based warehouse store: 15000:1

I agree anything is better in that location vs nothing. I do not like seeing empty buildings(ie old Sobeys).  
 
Personally I wouldn't be thrilled about Petsmart because of the impact on PetValu. They are very knowledgeable and awesome people that work there.

PetSmart has confirmed to me that they will be opening a Brandon store in early 2020. No other details including location are available at the moment. I made a post in the buzz section of the site but since they aren't confirming this as the location I'm not directly attaching it to this thread.

For this particular location..is it me, or does 6+ months seem like a far date for opening a petsmart into a building that is already there?

FWIW, No matter who it is there’ll be some initial work to split the old SDM into two units... hence the smaller listed as not being avail until August.

It's offical.. PetsMart will be opening up in the old shoppers drug mart location on 18th st. Please see attached link.
