Yes, I would highly recommend looking at all aspects of what each party will do and the changes they will make.  
I really can’t say enough good things about our current provincial government and will be happily placing my pc vote again

To call an election over a year ahead of time because the polls are in your favor is not fiscally responsible.

will be the same in a year's time. The other parties are just not ready, is that what bothers you?

If you don't see the problem with that statement, I think maybe you need to go retake your math. If every government (which most do) moved their election up by a year. Than every 9 years tax payers are paying for an extra election that didn't need to be. If your term is 4 years stick to it. I don't care what party it is.

I sure as hell wish Trudeau had called an early election but he's a sly fox, he knows he will be getting the boot this year and he's busy spending all that he can before the voting date!

Will believe it or not make or break the election

The best way forward for MB and the country is PROGRESSIVE Conservatives. It's in their name. Pallister is not perfect, nor is Sheer, but they are the best of the pack. (I really want to vote for Bernier - but I so far have not heard of him having a candidate in my area)  
 
I watched Pallister start the unenviable task of digging Manitoba out of a very deep hole that the NDP put them in. He still has a long way to go.  
 
Be warned - I can see what a bad NDP/Green propped government can do to an economy. In BC, the Liberals ran the province into the ground by allowing massive infrastructure and "growth" to grow unchecked by a lot of greasy palms and underground cash. When their misdeeds began coming to light, the NDP was voted in (minority) and is propped by the Green party. It is a nightmare to work with.  
 
The NDP is completely owned by a few Unions including the taxi union - which is a very small fraction of the province. That is the reason we do not have Uber/Lyft here (but we do have an Asians-only "uber" that is cash only and will not pick up "Westerners" - but that is a whole other can of worms to open) The Greens hold them by the proverbial "balls", in that they will only support the NDP initiatives in the leg. if it is environmentally supported by their platforms. They cannot see past their own noses. As much as I believe we do need to be far more environmentally responsible than we are, the Greens do not have any real plan to do anything in parliament or legislature that does not have environmental undertones.  
 
And for the record - while I have been here for only two years, even I can see that the environmental zealots are very few and far between - but they are vocal and well organized. So the next time you are complaining about how BC is screwing up the whole country by not allowing progress and allowing the pipeline to go through BC - just keep in mind there are far more of us who would be thrilled to see progress, even in the form of pipelines, because we have to get to work too. We are trying to feed our families and get ahead too..  
 
What scares me the most is what may end up to be voter burnout in Pallister calling this election less than a month before the Federal election. I hope all Manitobans get out and vote in BOTH polls. The West will need every vote we can get to oust Socks-boy and get the country moving forward again.

As a permanent resident I am not eligible to vote, despite having spent at least a million dollars in Manitoba since arriving.  
If I could vote it would go to the party that promised one set of laws across the whole of Canada rather than the current mish mash from province to province. Why should I need to get a new driving licence outside MB, I'm still in Canada, why cannot I choose TPFT cover rather than comp on my vehicle?  
Why can't I shop for a bottle of wine in the grocery store when I pick up the Sunday roast.?  
I could go on but you get the picture.

If you mean fiscally responsible by putting manitobans out of work and bringing out of province companies in to do their jobs I guess you win. Between the government run seal coat and centerline crews that lost their jobs, the maintenance dept cut backs and replace them with alberta based companies, I guess it is smart to put manitobans on employment insurance looking for work and send tax dollars to another province

Healthcare needs to be put in the hands of trained healthcare workers and run by them. The government has no idea how to fix the healthcare system. I come from a long line of healthcare professionals from top to bottom and almost every family member says keep the government out of making decisions. Let a board take over the healthcare and let them make decisions. Then the government takes their advice and decisions. Who knows the jobs better than workers doing the job. Not rocket science.  
The government needs to listen to the school boards and stop demanding from them. Why do we have school boards if the school board trustees cannot make decisions or talk freely.  
On party wants to keep the carbon tax. The tax needs to go at all levels government and start looking at the actual polluters. Not people of this great province. I can tell first had who the biggest polluters in the city and province. Most workplaces in the city and province do not recycle and through more garbage than the population of the province. Let's get money back from our plastic bottles. Does anyone have a concrete answer, where does this so called env levy go. And, everytime I buy a plastic or carton, I pay a different amount. Let's start getting our recycling fee back just like BC,Alberta and Saskatchewan. No more taxes.

Is there a website somewhere that lists all the Liberal (Trudeau) and PC (Pallister) promise going into the previous elections. Want to see what was neglected and what was fullfilled.

I am not yet sure yet how I will cast my ballot, however, I know for a fact that I am not going blue. Calling themselves progressive conservatives . . . LOL.  
 
As for fiscal responsibility, we now have example #3 of a lack thereof. Or have we forgotten about the antics of the Tweed/Maguire elections of not too long ago?  
It should be of concern when ones stated values are only as strong as the next big career advancement opportunity that shows up.  
 
One thing that ALL parties lack equally (at least in my estimation), is a plan of action for the future.  
While right-leaning parties tend to cast this problem aside by simply looking backwards, there will come a time when that will no longer cut it. When the dirty petroleum driven machine that underpins the myth succumbs to the inevitable winds of technological and economic change that only the most delusional can ignore at this point, where will we be?  
 
If right-leaning parties stay true to their antics so far, they will be caught flat-footed. However, few others have also taken this coming reality with much seriousness either.  
 
Of course, few people take this with much seriousness, to begin with. However, ignoring the problem isn't going to make it go away. Nor will silly attempts to stop it like avoiding self-checkouts at every opportunity.  
 
There are priorities that need to be dealt with now. Healthcare, the exploding substance abuse crisis (possibly related to the previous category), infrastructure and such. However, whilst the day to day is important, so too is the future.  
 
Not adequately planning for it will only serve to make the outcome worse. People thrown out of work and purpose often end up on a path of self-destruction. If we're not spending money now on figuring out where to go, we will almost certainly be spending it later on fighting crime and battling an even worse drug abuse epidemic.  
 
That is my potentially controversial my 2 cents on this topic.
