I just moved to the city and was wondering where to shop for high quality vegetables.

Heritage Coop.

Forget it, not in Manitoba, everything except possibly what you will buy at a farmers market, has been on a truck for a week or so before it gets to a distribution depot. Nothing is flown in and on the shelf within 24 hours of being picked.  
Suggest you grow it yourself.

I always love Superstores fruits and vegetables. Always seem fresh .

Can’t say I agree. I was at superstore on Friday and the peaches and strawberries were all mouldy and mushy. Can’t say this is the first time I’ve seen this either. Co-op on the other hand, great produce!

I am in there every other day and have never once seen anything mushy or mouldy. Always clean and fresh!

They are so busy that they have a fast turn over of fruits and veggies that usually find them fresh.

Just looked in the co-op flyer, nothing fruit or veg is local, not even from Manitoba.  
The nearest is from Western Canada which in probability means BC, the rest is from California or USA.  
Local to me means within 20 or so miles of the store, what does it mean to anyone else?  
When I was in our local store Friday the peaches and nectarines were hard, picked before being ripe and once off the plant do not get riper. When they are ripe the juice will run down your chin as you take a bite.

Price wise, nothing beats Superstore. They have the lowest prices by far. A recent example: one bunch or radishes: .88 at Superstore, 1.48 Sobey's. Selection is large and varied.  
 
While I've gone on various days, it seems the selection and quality is best earlier in the week. I've seen some "wilted|" produce, but never rotten or worse.

Just because it is in Coops flyer, doesn't mean it's not locally grown. Tomatoes are quite often from Deloraine, MB. They have beans, beets, etc. in plastic bags that are locally grown some of it is from a local Hutterite Colony.

I agree that there can be some produce that is local grown but the flyer does not state this.  
If I was running a store I'd want my customers to know that I am buying from very local producers whether colonies or otherwise.  
None of the store labels that I have read state where exactly the produce was grown, perhaps you could show me a photo that shows otherwise.  
Tell us which farms the food comes from and we can support our local producers as opposed to the big multinationals.  
I would apply the same thought to the meat counter. If you know the beef is from Joes farm just outside Brandon, tell us. Traceability has been mooted for years but never seems to actually happen.

I'm sorry to say i would never buy any from Superstore.

When you walk into the Co-Op, you pretty much run into a display of large bags of beets, carrots, potatoes, peppers, etc. The labels say exactly which farm they are from.

If you actually go into Co Op there’s plenty of fresh veggies and fruits that have signs that state where they come from locally. But I’m not going to do your homework for you.

I will try Southview Gardens. Coop had a nice selection as well.

They have a market setup in a trailer in the Lady of the Lake parking lot every Friday from 10-2. Everything you could imagine, grown locally, and so delicious!

Brown Sugar Produce also does CSA, where you pay a set price and get veggies throughout the year. Keep in mind, our local veggies are not very exciting through the winter months...things that keep well like cabbages, potatoes, etc. They sell shoots and sprouts too, I think. There are several CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture) available in Brandon - check out https://csamanitoba.org for listings.  
Also if you can find a Hutterite colony around you that sells veggies in season: some grow their gardens organically, but you'd have to ask. Good quality, low prices.  
Other than that, I'd say the nicest grocery stores are the Sobey's/Safeway, maybe Co Op. Superstore carries a very wide variety of produce but it's not always "nice".
