Water taste/smell

Has anyone else noticed their water smelling and tasting like old lake water in the last few days days on the north hill? Just wondering what could be causing this. Sometimes it’s really bad chlorine but I get that with water treatment, etc but never had it taste or smell like this before.

Happens every year, something to do with the snow melting if I remember it right

we have well water and we get the same thing as the smell when the snow starts to melt.

we don't drink our water so don't know about taste but smell is certainly there.

It may not smell the best, but tap is still both cheaper and better monitored than most (if not all) bottled water sources. Probably even those that start out as perfectly good tap water, only to end up in a clear or "Plant-based" plastic bottle.

From yesterday’s City of Brandon stream,

It was assured that water treatment staff continue to take measures to reduce spring taste and odour, which is a challenge that comes up every spring. This year they are having a little extra trouble when it comes to taste/smell, but it’s assured that they will get it sorted out and more importantly that the water remains safe to drink

Both filtering and chilling the water helps. I find hot water the worst. Or if the smell totally turns you off (me), a bit of lemon if you have helps mask the taste/smell.
