So what’s everyone’s surprise today? Mine was a 500 dollar increase!

Was $300 decrease on one property and a $80 decrease on the other

Mine went down $15. Wooo!

Up $529 dollars  
Are you kidding me  
That’s 12% increase  
Something is drastically wrong at that place they call city hall.  
This is the worst thing they should be doing to people suffering through the pandemic.  
Mr. Mayor you now have lowered yourself lower than  
Trudeau. I thought price gouging during this time was illegal as fines were being issued.  
Well the city of Brandon has hit an all time LOW

and I am not expert by any means that your increase was due to reassessment. That's a provincial issue not a city hall issue. In your neighbourhood has there been a lot of new builds going up?  
Maybe someone with more knowledge about assessment can answer your concerns.

A little over $300 lower.

The city mill rates went down across the board. If your property taxes went up it’s because your house was assessed at a higher value. Don’t blame the city, blame the province on their assessment. If you took a building permit out to do any renovations you increased the value of your house all on your own and there is no one to blame but yourself on the value increase. I’m happy to see that the mill rates finally came down a bit! Happy person here

It's a good way to see your assessment history as well as your history of total property taxes on a year by year basis.

My house is up $400.. no permits, no renos outside or inside. House is same as the day we bought it.  
 
I do agree the assessment of the house is quite a bit higher.

Mine went down $50 but I think this is the year for my reassessment. Also no new houses or houses being sold close by.
