I’m an hour northwest of Brandon and my rain gauge just hit 6.01 inches (152 mm) and it is still raining

We had 150mm (6”) over about an hour and half we live along McDonald Ave in Brandon. Definitely the most rain in that period of time that I can ever remember

SW edge was just under 160mm (6.3 inches) following the first round of storms. And still coming.

In east end Green acres 5 3/4 inches. 146 mm. Had a storm like this one other time since we moved to Green Acres in 2008. Can’t remember exactly when but very similar.

Officially from Environment and Climate Change Canada, 155.5mm (6.12 inches) fell at the airport... an all-time single-day record. Only one previous time (1902) had we even seen more than 90mm in one day:

It's not Brandon areas record from last night's downpour, or my personal record where I live but I got 4 1/2 inches in the East End of Brandon.

ECCC Manitoba's Twitter account has put out a slightly different number from the 155.5mm that's showing on ECCC's Brandon weather page. Per below, they are saying 152.3mm of rain and that the previous record was 102.9mm on June 2, 1953. One estimate has some areas of the storm getting over 200(!!)mm. No matter how you slice it, more than 6 inches in Brandon and the most ever.
Brandon set a new extreme daily rainfall amount yesterday. 152.3 mm of rain was reported with the slow moving thunderstorms, this broke the previous record of 102.9 mm set on June 2, 1953.

8th Street close to Richmond, 4 3/8" first down pour and then 2 3/4" second down pour. So 7 inches and 1/8 which is 180.975 mm. I think is may have been more because the wind was blowing so hard.

I know in east end closer to the Green Spot it was 8 inches, so I think very different even around Brandon.

What area of Brandon my rain gauge said 1.5”last night and got 5 3/4” Sunday night. I’m in the east end.

Officially it’s 33.7mm that ECCC caught at the airport... that’ll be Tuesday, so a little more into Wednesday. Reports definitely seem to vary around the city. One I know of in South end had 55mm, one in West end 36.5mm... either way we’re in the area of 200mm on the week and it’s only half over!

4 miles north of Brandon there was 160 mm Sunday and another 30mm on Tuesday night. that's 7.6 inch.

A good example of the power of all the water flow. Not sure if this pic totally does it justice, but the flow of water from higher ground in Riverheights gutted like half the sand from this sandbox. In the one corner the sand was I bet two feet higher. Way in the background about 100-150 feet away is the sand in the back corner of the park!

Start the mosquito countdown at what 10-12 days? I know the city has said some good stuff about the larvaciding program, but imagine it has its limits in this “land of 10,000 lakes” like this one unless Lady Luck dries some of these up in a hurry?..
