I thought like many others we might take the kids to th hills to go sledding this afternoon. When we saw the hills were quite busy, we drove off as i thought we could only be in groups of 5 even outdoors. Same things at The Sugar Bowl.
Are we allowd to be in large groups outdoors? I know they were all seperate groups, maybe that is ok? Anyone know?

With the most recent changes within red, max size per group in that outdoor recreation situation would be five with expectation that anyone not from same household should be keeping a 2 metre distance. Little concerned that that didn’t look to be the case at the Parkdale hill either this weekend for at least the time we were nearby. Was said that these things will be monitored and as much as it's nice to see the weather being enjoyed I do wonder if they’re going to have to look at a change here...

I posted about assesipi opening and got blasted for it. Everyone thinks it’s acceptable. If you were to do a risk assessment for each one I’d say tobogganing is a lot less dangerous. Your generally only there for a couple hours. You can stick to your family unit. You go home to use your own bathroom.

Skiing at assesipi requires much more human interaction. Not to mention your attracting people from all over not just a handful of people within your own community.

Potential issue with tobogganing is that actual top of some of these hills is pretty small and depending on natural flow of people doing the downs and ups you sometimes end up with good-sized clusters at the top of folks that didn't necessarily come as or intend to be "groups." Not sure how enforceable, but be nice if there was some kind of spaced lineup system with max number at the top at any given point in time.

The gathering at the top shouldn’t matter. They tell us we can shop in aisles that don’t allow 6 feet as long as we mask and sanitize.

Everyone at the hill should still be fallowing the masking rules.

As for pile ups at the bottom. Time your entry points to prevent that.

If they weren't prepared to have someone on site to control numbers and groups. Going to be same situation at skating oval and outdoor rinks when they open as well if they don't have someone on site to monitor numbers.

Sugar bowl seems a little better setup for distancing, being a big ring around the outside rather than a hill where people have to clutter together at the top when it gets busier (not sure what that means for the bottom). Will say that when I was in the area yesterday there were a good amount of folks out, but spacing between people I suspect couldn't have been better if Dr. R himself was there with a tape measure
