I for one am a little annoyed that there seems to be no timetable for movie theaters reopening in this province. They are open in Saskatchewan and are opening in 2 days in Ontario. Our vaccine numbers are very promising so I just don't get it

It is not safe to reopen yet. Case numbers are still too high, not enough people fully vaccinated and the delta variant is looming it’s ugly head around the corner.  
Other provinces will lockdown again soon enough as new variants take a hold. We have a long way to go and a lot more work to do to get on top of covid 19.

OP is right. Are you telling me movie theaters are more dangerous than bowling? It's dumb they're not open and I have little doubt they will be this week.

As much as we miss concerts, movie theatre, eating out, bowling etc we feel that it is not safe to visit any of these non-essentials at this time. A log of medical experts and epidemiologists express similar views. Many more people need to be fully vaccinated and relaxation of restrictions needs to be carried out in a much slower and more controlled manner. Variants of concern are causing mayhem in other countries and their inevitable spread must still be considered if we are to avoid another year of covid 19 waves, infections and deaths.

Right, and that's fair enough, I respect that view. What I am saying is that with every single other entertainment venue open, it's dumb that one of the easiest to control (people are seated the entire time and can be easily socially distanced) has not been allowed to open for months and months when things like go karting, bowling, and axe throwing are absolutely allowed.
