I remember finding one of these at the base of one of the large trees at Patmores years ago. A friend of mine was finishing up her ag studies and she had to positively collect & identify a number of insects. It was identified through the Research Station, I believe.
It's nothing to be afraid of as they are harmless. I thought they were pretty cool and is one of my fond memories of working there. We collected a lot of interesting insects there that year and I learned a lot.
