    Hi, does anyone know a good place or type of renters insurance I should get? I’m required to get it for my new place.

    mean as a tenant. Any insurance brokerage or even your bank can arrange cover.  
    Same applies as a Landlord.  
    You will need to put a value on your possessions and ensure that third party liability is included.

    I have mine through Philips Insurence on 1st, underwritten by Red River Mutual. You can even set up to pay the yearly due online in your banking.  
     
    it's handy-dandy. Don't even need to go down anymore (or use a stamp!).

    I used Guild Insurance for when I had renters insurance. It was approx $130 for the year and covered me for $50k. Look into an insurance broker, they will deal with multiple insurance companies to look for the best deals/prices.

    I dealt with the ladies at Western for years and got a policy through Wawanesa Insurance which I am unfortunately having to actually use for the first time due to the Pacific Ave fire and they have been so fantastic to deal with through all the chaos!
