Going to be in Winnipeg Feb 9-12. Any good suggestions what to do and see? Being that it will likely be freezing cold and Covid is in control limits a few things for sure. Any cool new restaurant ideas or places to see would be welcome. Not really interested in Polo Park or Costco thing. More of an IMAX or live events type.

has a new building off Wellington near the terminal. But don't think it has opened yet, says early 2022. I went by it in October and it looks like it will be a good museum.

Get a tour at the Royal Canadian Mint.

Festival Du Voyageur is on soon. I think they are planning to have some outdoor activities.

Go to the golf dome and knock a few balls around, play mini golf or virtual golf.

Sit there, shake your head and wonder why you thought going to Winnipeg was a good idea!

Your right I need to give my head a shake and I did. Cancelled my trip. Winnipeg is off the charts with Covid and with all those people from the Southern health region travelling back-and-forth to Winnipeg that are unvaccinated just makes sense to steer clear of the place.

Someone I know had to go in. Medical reason. Only there for a few hours. Brought home the gift of Covid-19.  
 
All are family and close friends vaccinated. Or should say only a few friends not vaccinated. But we don’t associate or have anyone over to our house inside or outside.  
 
Follow all PH regs.  
 
Unfortunately not all places require vaccination cards.  
 
We need to follow Quebec lead and start with liquor and cannibis stores first and then go from there.

I've seen the Mint mentioned and that's something I 100% recommend checking out at least once in your life. So many countries coin their currency right here in Manitoba.  
 
One place I go to every time I'm in the city now is Nonsuch Brewery in the exchange district. They're owned by Brandon ex-pats and arguably make the best burger in the city, as well as some of the best beer in the province - it's stronger than most beers but pairs well with everything. They also have homemade tourtiere, doughnuts, potato chips and charcuterie.. It's awesome to see people originally from Brandon doing well!
