The other thing people seem to forget is that before COVID, walking into some places with a mask (like a bank) would have been a huge societal no-no. It didn't matter that it might cut down on other ailments like cold and flu, it just wasn't worth the hassle.
"No officer, I wasn't wearing the mask as a disguise to rob this establishment."
Now, two years later, with masks more normalized, I think we'll see more of them during cold and flu season.
