So tell me again why we just sit and watch this poor country get slaughtered every day? Why aren’t the world leaders doing more? Is it ok for Russia just to do this? Are we afraid of Putin? Are we afraid he is going to push the so called nuclear button? Well maybe we should push it first. That’s right let’s end this bloodbath. How does the world sleep at night doing nothing with the knowledge of this horror show. Sanctions and photo ops are not going to end this anytime soon. What if it was Canada getting butchered? It is it all politically tied in with money? Then to make it even more ridiculous they throw a birthday party for Putin. Seriously!!?

I agree that the rest of the world is not doing enough to remove the Russians from Ukrainian soil. I fear that if we continue in this vane other countries will soon suffer Russias aggression.

You have to hand it to the Ukrainian people for putting up a ferocious defense of their homeland, I don't imagine there are many countries that could do the same, canada included.  
 
We have always been fed this story of the russian bear and its military might, imagine the laughing stock you would have been 10 or 15 years ago if you had said russia would have stalled out while invading another country, especially a former republic of theirs that literally sits on their border.  
 
All these sanctions don't amount to much if they aren't willing to sanction the critical resource market the russians have, taking mega yachts doesn't seem to be slowing putin down.  
 
My concern is with how china will start to expand outward now that they know the rest of the world is so hesitant to respond, I think we will soon see taiwan in the news more for a start

That’s the biggest reason other countries haven’t joined the war is because Ukraine isn’t a member of nato. If Russia attacks a neighbouring country that is a member of nato then all hell breaks loose.

The Soviets also stalled when they tried to take over Afghanistan, despite throwing more and more resources at it. They were even building schools and dams to try and garner the hearts and minds of the Afghan people.  
But then again so did we and our allies. It was basically the same result.

So you want to nuke them and kill a whole bunch of civilians that don’t deserve to die to save a bunch of civilians that don’t deserve to die? Everything is always easier then it seems, if you nuke I’m sure it will impact more then just Russia, and for years and years and years to come. And also who knows where these guys hide and where there buttons are, what if you don’t even get them and they get us, or what if dropping a nuke takes time and they still have time to release there’s first? I get it’s very frustrating and shitty to watch, and my wife’s family is Ukraine so believe me I want this to stop aswel but now a days I don’t think it’s as easy as you may think, especially dealing with people that give zero you know what’s about anyone in the world.

I get why people are upset, but war happens all the time. This even isn't the first time Russia has done this to Ukraine- see Crimea - it just happens Ukraine is fighting back this time, and it's a "civilized European nation", to roughly quote some of the reporting that has gone on.  
 
Our MO, globally, tends to be to mostly stay out of it (unless one of our allies instigate it, then we're obligated to help) until it simply can't be contained anymore. Why? Because that's how we stop from destroying ourselves.  
 
World Wars 1&2 decimated Europe and other parts of the world, no one is anxious to repeat that. The West "doing something" will lead to it undoubtedly. Genocides happen all the time. The scale/efficiency of the Nazis is what made it so egregious, but don't fool yourself into thinking it hasn't happened and continues to happen multiple times since then.  
 
We all want to see Russia punished for what it's doing , but beyond what we're doing now there's no easy way to do it without full-scale war, one that will probably wipe humanity off the Earth this time because of the weapons we possess.

Russia's supposed Poseidon weapons, and you'll have a quick idea of why a war with them, as opposed to political and economic sanctions, is a terrible idea. If even one of the rumored warheads is as powerful as they could be, it would be a North American continent killer, if not a global killer.  
All out war with Russia's rogue psychopath leader (and the new Axis powers that would probably join him) would lead to even greater loss of life in every nation, economic collapse, and decades of recovery.  
Economic and political sanctions appear to be the safest way to cripple and enemy from within now, and one we can't give up on.  
Having said that, I also don't think we should be trading lives for global peace when such atrocities are being committed to the Ukrainian people, which is why I support the idea of supplying Ukraine with defensive weapons, tactical training, and humanitarian assistance.
