Not sure who the city hired last fall to repair the circle at 9th street by Maryland School but they should be embarrassed  
 
They shut the street down for 6 hours and slapped some asphalt down in the holes. When it dried the asphalt they filled the potholes with was over an inch higher than the pavement. Now you deal with bumps not potholes  
 
Moving forward today that mess they created with the repairs is crazy. The repairs are getting pounded out and more holes are appearing because of a poor road repair

Mr Mayor and councillors please drive your vehicles  
around the 9th street circle and let us know if you find this kind of work acceptable. Then have a chat with the person at city hall approved to pay for a job NOT well done.

How about the train tracks on 17th street east. Like a foot and a half above the road.

The 9th street traffic circle is used by School Buses and tons of parents dropping off kids at Maryland School. Tons of cars go that way from the High School.Also on city bus route. It is a real discrace I is time to put this plus another constant holes south of the circle on the redo list sooner than later.

I wonder if the people that “fixed” the rail crossing ever goes over it and is like wow we are probably the worst people in this industry. Crossing to the north was done 1000 times better. I can’t believe people got paid for that job. Needs to be redone. But nothing will happen.

I guess I should add in a complaint about our public schools as well. A foot and a half? That is a bold statement, and I am shocked that there isn’t a vehicle graveyard in the bordering ditch. I know my car would be ripped to shreds if that was even close to accurate.  
With the way our weather is, and the amount of traffic this city has, it is no wonder there are a few issues out there. But instead of complaining maybe take a different route? Or give yourself an extra minute or two to get where needed? I don’t know. No road has ever been fixed by the magic of complaining.

are you rolling your eyes because of the op post ? He did say that he's living in that area so alternate route , why ? I find the complaint justified considering the roughly $5000 and up annual tax bill - I think the city has a bad track record of contracting out - the climate , sure a factor but shouldn't be need to be redone in a year - just my opinion

I was more referring to the alleged Evil Knievel style ramp on 17th street east. Similar to the new speed “ramp” on 26th street, in front of Jr Reid school, why not just slow down if it is an issue?  
Paying (seemingly) high taxes is one of the parts of adult life that we cannot really control, so why complain about it? Life could be so incredibly worse.

Why 2 traffic circles 8 blocks from one another? Most people use one of the 2 traffic circles to get to one of the schools and avoid using them to leave. Most cars are taking Cornwallis cres. to Aberdeen. We live in the area and traffic has increased ten fold on Cornwallis cres. and even Cornwallis bay. Almost impossible to get onto Cornwallis from Aberdeen at 4:00pm. As far as 17th st e railroad tracks need to be fixed asap! It may take a semi trailer to tip over before anything is done about it! It’s bad!

The tracks at 17th street east have been bad since the day they repaired it. I drive over them every day with my car and it hits hard some slow down to 30-40 to go over them and it’s a 60 zone it’s a safety issue due to people slamming on the brakes last minute. The tracks at Victoria ave east by the hydro plant where done around the same time and are the nicest ones I’ve gone over. As for the traffic circle it is at the point it requires to be taken right out the base repaired and packed properly and repaved. The 26th street ramp was designed to force people to slow down in a school zone the tracks where just butchered by whoever done the paving.

I agree with the slowing down part 100% , wasn't complaining about paying taxes was referring to the quality of work you getting for the (seemingly) high taxes
