does anyone know if there are any ADU or granny suites in Brandon?  
I am considering building one , and would like to see the outside of one in Brandon, just to get an idea or if it is feasable, or if there are any builders that might be interested in building one in brandon.  
 
any ideas or help would be appreciated.

A Granny suite is usually a basement suite in a house with a seperate entrance, an ADU from my understanding is akin to a guest house. If that's the option you're looking for, there is a few places over by the university, around 15 Street and Victoria that had guest houses put in around fifteen years ago or so. Make sure you do your homeowrk with building codes etc., as I seem to remember a stink about guest houses around that same time.

The City recently made changes to the Zoning By-law that make building detached accessory suites easier than ever before.  
 
With that said, not may have taken advantage of the new rules. I suspect that servicing a second building with only one unit can be somewhat cost prohibitive compared to converting a basement to a suite.

"Not True" he says. Check with the homeowners over in that end of town and they'll tell you they put those guest houses in about fifteen or twenty years ago. AT THAT TIME, there was a big stink with the city about people building guest houses in their backyards. Hence the reason I said to check the zoning laws, which, by your post, RECENTLY were changed. Next time you want to make someone out to be a liar, maybe actually read through what they said rather than spouting off.
