From time to time I check out e-Brandon to see what's going on in my home town. A few weeks ago I was distressed to learn of the possible demise of CKX-TV. I also noticed someone suggesting that the Brandon Sun was going to be printed in Winnipeg, a development that would not auger well for the future of the newspaper. Both the TV station and the paper have a long history of providing service to Western Manitobans who would be less well informed should they no longer exist. Of course I may prejudiced because, back in the 1950s my first job was at The Sun before moving over to work at CKX television and radio. I am writing because I do not see any updates on these two situations for several weeks and am curious about their current status.
