HELP with ants!!

The ground is barely thawed .. and we have ants ... hundreds of ants .. in the house! I've lived in this place for 3.5 years, and have never had an ant problem ... but I sure do now! HELP!! I've tried the little tins of ant killer .. but it doesnt seem to be working .. what next ?
