With some of the prominent chatter we've had about homelessness on eBrandon lately, I thought this announcement was well-timed...
The Federal Gov't has contributed $30,000 towards homelessness in Westman. Using it:
"the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Westman will provide community coordination, training, technical support and data analysis for the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS) in Brandon. HIFIS, a data collection system used by homelessness service providers, allows community organizations to use data collected to better design long-term solutions that address the root causes of homelessness in Canada."
That to me may hint at the possibility for more money to come once data points to where specifically it could be best spent.
