What's up with the Strand?

So the Strand Theatre continues to sit there, unused. I realize there was a movement started some time ago, but what's going on lately? It seems to me that the Strand could be used for many different types of events, and could be a centrepiece for downtown revival.
Does anyone have any updates on what's going on with that project?
