Should there be more opportunity for "mature adults" in the workforce?

By the article below, the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce are currently part of a discussion to look at the potential for integrating more older workers into the workforce (note that the article is based on Winkler, but includes more general quotes from the MB Chambers president).
While there are no doubt some stereotypical attitudes out there toward that segment of the population, it should be noted that we will be facing more and more challenges in the coming years as a result of an aging population. The article suggests that the solution to the problem is being open to more opportunities for experienced people who are in their golden years...
