Snakes in Inwood, MB
9/16/2009 at 11:34 PM
Did anyone else hear about the garter snake invasion in a senior's personal care home in Inwood, MB?! I heard it on CTV News with Lloyd Robertson.
Apparently Inwood is known for the snake migration in the fall: as the snakes go thru the town to go to their winter dens.
The snakes have been burrowing in the foundation and pipes. Residents have found them in closets, shoes, under the bed, baseboards, etc etc etc.....The province has been called to help with the problem.
Also, apparently reptiles carry samenella (Sp?) and everything that they touch should be disinfected. The seniors are not up to disinfecting the complex (to which when I heard this on the news I thought...DUH!)
I personally have a severe phobia of snakes...yes even the little bitty ones...gives me the creeps.
