please help me pick out a lawn mower

my lawn mower is dying and I would like to know what is a good mower to look for. I am looking for a gas mower that is easy to change the deck level. I would like to stay away from the craftsman brand as thats what I have now. I would like to spend around 200-300. Can you give me ideas please. Thanks
