DO I look like a moron???

So, today my 15 yr old and I went to grab a bite at a local fast food restaurant. As we sat down to eat our meal a young guy started talking on his cell phone while waiting for his order.
Every fourth word seemed to be the F-Bomb ... his end of the conversation, offered loudly in the middle of the restaurant went something like this:
"I don't f--- care. I don't f--- expect to be treated like this. I f-- expect better f-- service ..." and so on ...
The absolute BEST part of this came when he made the statment - "I'm NOT an f---' moron you know!!!"
It was EVERYTHING I had to keep from turning and saying as loudly as he was being - "you sure sound like one."
Why do so many people feel it is okay and appropriate to yak on their cell phones in public and use such foul language ?? But more than that - why do young people think it is okay and acceptable to use the F-bomb so much??
Don't get me wrong, I can and have made even a hardened sailor blush with my use of profanity ... but there is a time and place for everything - is a public restaurant really the time and place to sound like a MORON????
It's a free country but ... there IS a limit to that freedom ...
(my 15 yr old just mused - "I wonder if the guy will read this ..." ,my reply was: "yeah and he'll write - 'that's not what f--- happened, you f---. a--ole!!" or something like that !!)
