RE: Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2009-614
Please accept the following comments in response to the above-referenced Notice of Consultation.
I am a resident of Brandon Manitoba, and we have lost our local television station CKX.
It's gone. No local news or sports, no nothing. An integral part of our community has been taken from us. Who is to blame? How can this be restored? I can't help but think the CRTC dropped the ball.
I urge the CRTC to do what is right and fix our broken television model by providing local TV stations with the right to negotiate for their signals and to protect consumers with the regulation of basic cable rates.
